Emmigrated to Knox County, IL soon after April 1839, after farming at Burnghoin, then at Barwinnock, Ayrshire, Scotland.

Note: An inquiry in 1969 to the Town Clerk at Newton Stewart received this reply: "There are two old Penninghame Churchyards, the Clanchan about 3 miles out and one in Newton Stewart. Annabaglish Farm is about 8 miles from here and there is a Barwinnock near Withhorn. I do not know Burnghoin Farm." In view of the Colmonell parish records of baptism of Andrew's children, it does not appear the Barwinnock near Withorn is of interest.

James Milroy McCornack:
His mother died when he was six weeks old and he was raised by his relatives, the Milroy's. Whne he was 18 he returned to his father's farm. In 1885 he removed to Norton Co. KS; Then soon to Logan Co.
On 22 April 1889, the first day of the run for the Oklahoma Territory, they began their pioneering life in Oklahoma and were instrumental in acheiving is statehood. They settled at Oklahoma City. He was a farmer and stock raiser. He was trustee and deacon of the Congregational Church there. Parents: Robert MCCORNACK and Jane Gordon MCDOWELL.

Robert McCornack:
As a young man he went to London where he became a clerk, later part owner of a drygoods store. He returned to Scotland for seven years of farming. Married first Jane Gordon McDowell April 22, 1833 in Kirkmabreck Parish, Kirkcudbrightshire. They went to Nova Scotia in 1835, thence to New York, and finally to Knox County, IL. He purchased 160 acres of land on which he built a log house 16' x 16', later replaced by a brick house. Jane died Dec. 14, 1849, and he then married Agnes Anderson Dec. 20, 1860. He was a school director and overseer of highways. Parents: Andrew MCCORNACK and Janet\Jannet\Jennet MCCLYMONT.

Robert Pascal McCornack:
In 1885, he went with his son, Leon, to Kansas, near Hoxie, where he homesteaded 160 acres.
His second wife, Dorothy also homesteaded 160 acres, and proved up another claim by planting trees, which were scarce at that time in western Kansas: this was near the small town of Tasco.
They removed to Oklahoma City about the end of August 1894. Parents: Robert MCCORNACK and Jane Gordon MCDOWELL.
